The City of Tallulah is the parish seat of Madison Parish, Louisiana. Located in the heart of the Louisiana delta along the I-20 corridor, Tallulah is also a mere 20 miles west of Vicksburg, Mississippi. Delta Air Lines had its early beginnings in Tallulah as the home of an agricultural experiment station that first used airplanes to control cotton pests. The city is also home to the historic Bloom’s Arcade – the first indoor shopping mall in the U.S., which was recently renovated into an upscale apartment complex. Tallulah also hosts the annual Teddy Bear Fest – held each October in commemoration of President Roosevelt’s bear hunt in Madison Parish that took place in 1907. Residents and tourists alike also enjoy easy access to the beautiful Tensas River National Wildlife Refuge, featuring nearly 80,000 acres of bottomland hardwood forest and oxbow lakes – and home to more than 400 species of wildlife. Leading industries include Complex Chemical, SAPA, & Lamb Weston. Population in Tallulah is right above 7300.
