Delta Science Club (Sci Quest)

Devil’s Den, AR – Hiking through trails of limestone & shale, rock formations and a creek bed full of marine fossils from the
Paleozoic.

Purpose

The purpose of the Delta Science Club is to provide students with exposure to the diversity of science disciplines, perpetuate within members a desire to learn, explore, inquire, and experiment, develop leadership skills, and facilitate camaraderie among members through a variety of field trips, activities, and guest speakers.

Meetings

Regular meetings will be held on the 1st Thursday of every month at 1pm unless otherwise announced. Regular meetings will include club business as well as an activity or guest speaker. There will be additional announced functions (field trips, planned activities, etc) throughout the semester. Members will be notified of the additional events by email, posted flyers, and classroom announcements.

Field Trips

All field trips will be announced as soon as possible so that members can make arrangements to attend. This is your club. You will help to decide the activities and field trips we take. Transportation will be provided for most field trips on a first come, first serve basis. Those that choose to transport themselves to an event will be responsible for their own vehicle-related expenses incurred. No alcoholic beverages, illegal narcotics, or weapons of any kind will be allowed at any Delta field trip, meeting, or event.

Membership Dues

Delta Science Club members will be required to pay $10 per year ($5 per semester) for dues. Membership dues will be used for meeting refreshments and activity supplies.
