Monroe -The City of Bastrop forged an agreement with Louisiana Delta Community College to allow the use of a facility located at 701 Collier Lane to be used for educational purposes. The agreement goes into effect on February 18, 2022, and is dated to end in three years. LDCC's plan for the space is to create a simulated hospital. Louisiana Delta Community College Chancellor, Dr. Randy Esters, said, "Nursing students from all LDCC campuses will do a clinical rotation at the simulation lab in Bastrop. This goal to supply workforce needs in area hospitals, doctor's offices, long-term care facilities, and anyone else who needs Allied Health graduates. Bastrop Mayor, Betty Alford-Olive expressed her gratitude to LDCC for their partnership and serving the Bastrop community. "We are looking forward to community growth as a result of this partnership, “said Mayor Olive. A ribbon-cutting will be announced at a later date.
