WEST MONROE, LA - The Monroe Police Department, Monroe Police Aspiring Change (MPAC), and Louisiana Delta Community College (LDCC) will host Career Exploration Day on Thursday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at LDCC West Monroe, providing local students with an opportunity to explore career pathways through interactive experiences and campus tours.
Designed for students entering the eighth grade through members of the Class of 2026, the event aims to expose participants to a variety of high-demand careers while connecting them with the education and training opportunities available at LDCC. Students will have the opportunity to explore career fields such as healthcare, skilled trades, barbering, and more through hands-on activities and demonstrations led by industry professionals and faculty.
In addition to learning about career options, attendees will receive an exclusive tour of LDCC's West Monroe Campus, where they will experience the college's state-of-the-art instructional spaces and gain insight into the programs that prepare students for successful careers across Northeast Louisiana.
Career Exploration Day is part of an ongoing effort by the Monroe Police Department, MPAC, and Louisiana Delta Community College to encourage career readiness in students through community partnerships. By introducing young adults to a variety of professions and educational pathways, the event seeks to help students make informed decisions about life after high school while highlighting the workforce opportunities available within the region.
The event will be held at Louisiana Delta Community College's West Monroe Campus, located at 609 Vocational Parkway, West Monroe. Activities will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 1 p.m. Lunch will be provided for all registered participants.
