Course Description: This customized course will cover topics including sensors and input devices, output elements, control elements and display elements, including how they are all interconnected. Input devices may include level, pressure, position, temperature, etc., and may be binary (on/off) or analog.  Also included will be basic PLC, basic  PIO, basic Motor control, along with the following: In depth discussion of the 4-20ma current loop, how and why it is used; Binary numbering system - why computers and PLCs use it; Interpolation (scaling) - how virtually all current generation transmitters use it.  Class will consist of Traditional lecture, handouts, electronic media and extensive use of hands-on equipment will be used.
