OSHA Competent Person

 

Course Description: Upon completion of this course participants will be able to explain the difference between an excavation and trench, responsibilities of a competent person, and how to classify soil types.  Participants will also learn about unconfined compressive strength measurements of soils, what that determines for the excavation site, and OSHA regulation relating to protective systems including the importance in application of Subpart P-Excavation Standard along with understanding how a cave-in works and summarizing safe work practices.
