WEST MONROE, LA – Louisiana Delta Community College (LDCC) celebrated a major milestone today with the official ribbon cutting for the newly expanded Diesel-Powered Equipment Technology Shop on the West Monroe Campus. Faculty, students, community members, and key industry partners gathered to commemorate the significant investment in one of the region’s most in-demand workforce training programs.
The expansion adds much-needed space for specialized workstations and advanced training capabilities, including upgraded electrical training areas. This enhancement will allow LDCC to provide more comprehensive, hands-on instruction—equipping students with the skills necessary to secure high-wage, high-demand jobs in the diesel technology field.
During the ceremony, Kenworth of Louisiana and Louisiana CAT were formally recognized for their generous donations of resources and funds, which played a pivotal role in making the expansion possible.
LDCC Diesel Program Director Rock Frost emphasized the impact of the partnership-driven project. “Thanks to our industry partners, our students will now leave here with more confidence and job readiness than ever before,” Frost said.
LDCC leadership also acknowledged the program’s rapid growth and the dedication of the campus community. “This expanded Diesel-Powered Equipment Technology Shop represents LDCC’s unwavering commitment to workforce excellence in Northeast Louisiana,” Chancellor Dr. Justin Hoggard explains, “By investing in state-of-the-art facilities and working hand-in-hand with industry leaders like Kenworth Essentials and Louisiana CAT, we are not just training students—we are forging career pathways that will meet critical regional employer needs and drive economic prosperity.”
