BASTROP, LA — Louisiana Delta Community College (LDCC) hosted a check presentation ceremony to recognize a transformative $300,000 donation from the Cox family in support of the new LDCC Bastrop Campus. Community members, local officials, and institution leadership gathered at the LDCC Simulation Center in Bastrop to celebrate the gift and the legacy it honors.
The Cox family made the donation on behalf of their parents, both beloved medical doctors who dedicated their lives to serving Morehouse Parish. Their contribution commemorates their parents’ legacy of care while helping build a campus that will provide accessible pathways into medical and technical fields for future generations.
“We are honored to make this donation. This is the perfect opportunity to invest in the community and provide an accessible gateway into the field of medicine right here in Morehouse Parish,” said Stephen Cox, a member of the Cox family.
LDCC Chancellor Dr. Justin Hoggard thanked the Cox family for their generosity and highlighted the lasting impact the new campus will have on the region. “This extraordinary investment from the Cox family is more than a contribution — it is a catalyst for the future of Northeast Louisiana,” said Dr. Hoggard. “The new Bastrop Campus will open doors for students, strengthen our workforce, and support the economic vitality of our region for generations to come. We are profoundly grateful for partners like the Cox family who believe in our students and the transformative power of education.”
The new LDCC Bastrop Campus represents a major investment in expanding training opportunities, improving access to high-quality education, and supporting the growing workforce needs of the Northeast Region. The Cox family’s donation marks an important milestone as construction preparations continue.
