MONROE, LA — Louisiana Delta Community College (LDCC) is pleased to announce the launch of its new Data Center Technician training program, created to prepare residents of Northeast Louisiana for high-demand, long-term careers supporting data center operations in the region.
As large-scale infrastructure projects continue to expand across North Louisiana, workforce demand for skilled data center technicians is expected to grow significantly. Current projections estimate the need for up to 1,500 data center technicians, with starting wages ranging from $18 to $26 per hour, depending on the employer and position.
To meet this demand, LDCC has developed a short-term, job-focused Data Center Technician program that provides hands-on technical training aligned with industry needs and leads directly to employment opportunities. An interest meeting for individuals interested in enrolling in the program will be held on Tuesday, February 3, at LDCC Winnsboro (2889 Highway 15, Winnsboro, LA) from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The first cohort of the Data Center Technician program will be sponsored by IES Communications, a national leader in data center infrastructure. IES Communications will be hiring directly from this class, providing participants with a clear pathway to employment upon successful completion.
The inaugural training session will run from February 16 through March 12, with classes held Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The program is designed to be completed in approximately four weeks while equipping students with the skills needed to work in modern data center environments, including systems installation, monitoring, maintenance, and operational support.
LDCC anticipates announcing additional Data Center Technician classes in the coming months in partnership with other employment partners. Future classes are expected to be offered at multiple LDCC locations, including Monroe and West Monroe, with additional campuses added as workforce demand requires.
This program is part of LDCC’s broader workforce development strategy to ensure residents of Northeast Louisiana are prepared for sustainable, well-paying careers created by ongoing economic development projects. By working directly with industry partners, LDCC continues to align training with real workforce needs and support long-term regional growth.
