LDCC SGA President Named Chair of Statewide Student Leadership Council

MONROE, LA — Louisiana Delta Community College (LDCC) proudly announces that Student Government Association (SGA) President Marcus Jackson has been named Chair of the Council of Student Body Presidents (COSBP) through the Louisiana Board of Regents. The council brings together student leaders from public postsecondary institutions across Louisiana to represent student perspectives and engage with higher education leadership statewide.

Jackson, an Information Technology major at LDCC, will serve in this leadership role representing students from across the state while helping guide discussions on issues impacting higher education in Louisiana.

As chair of COSBP, Jackson will work alongside fellow student leaders and the Louisiana Board of Regents to advocate for student success, provide insight on statewide higher education initiatives, and ensure student voices are part of important policy conversations.

“Marcus represents the very best of LDCC,” said college Chancellor Dr. Justin Hoggard. “His leadership, professionalism, and commitment to serving others have already made a meaningful impact on our campus. Being selected to lead student body presidents from across Louisiana is a tremendous honor and a reflection of his character, work ethic, and vision for student success. We are incredibly proud of Marcus and know he will represent LDCC and our students exceptionally well.”

Jackson has served as a student leader at LDCC, demonstrating a commitment to student engagement and leadership development. His appointment as chair highlights both his personal leadership abilities and LDCC’s ongoing commitment to developing student leaders who make an impact beyond campus.

“LDCC is proud to empower students to lead not only within our college, but across the state,” Dr. Hoggard added. “Marcus’s appointment is another example of the caliber of students we are preparing for leadership roles in Louisiana and beyond.”
