Commercial Vehicle Operator/CDL

Course Description: This program covers a 4-week program that prepares individuals to test for a Louisiana Commercial Vehicle Operator license.  The CDL program is a 200-hour, four-week course, Monday through Friday for eight hours per day. The CDL/CVO course is designed to prepare individuals for the CDL state licensing test. It covers online theory which includes safe driving procedures, handling cargo, trip planning, logging hours, coupling/uncoupling, identifying defects, driving in extreme conditions and night operations, shifting manual transmissions, and more. The hands-on portion of this class includes pre-trip, backing, and driving to prepare students for the CDL test. At the end of the course the student should have the knowledge and ability to pass the CDL state license test.

Pre-Requiste: Must obtain CDL Learners Permit prior to entry of the course.
